Fulcrum Structural Engineering

Moraga Barn

This 3,900 SF office project is the adaptive reuse of a three-story 1920s inn. Pivot proceeded to design a raft foundation to work in the extremely expansive soil of the site. The superstructure enhancements included opening the front of the building at the first and second stories and creating thin floors using the existing framing. The addition of an all-glass floor at the third level allows light from the roof openings to penetrate down. This project achieved LEED Platinum status.
